Villilä Manor The Pride of Nakkila!

The empire style manor and it’s grounds has a lot to offer for visitors. Â la carte restaurant, hotel Villa Emma, The Garage – Cafe’ and of course the Manor itself is a place worth visiting.

Manor is located 18 km from Pori, which is the biggest city in Satakunta region. And 43 km from Rauma which is the 4th oldest city in Finland and where you can find the beautiful old Rauma with old wooden buildings.

History of Villilä Manor

The first mention of Villilä Manor is found in the 1450’s, when the inhabitants of the village of Kokemäki Villiö founded a croft. At the beginning of the 17th century, three local taxpayers merged into a manor.

The manor’s current main building was completed in 1852. It was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel’s German architect who had a great impact on the architecture of Finland in the first part of the 19th century. Pupil Anders Fredrik Granstedt, who died three years before the building was completed.

The double-storey empirical-style main building has a total of 17 rooms. In the 1930’s, manor house park was designed by Paul Olsson, a garden architect from Germany. The park was renovated in the 1980’s.

In addition to the main building, there are other buildings in the grounds: Two-storey building designed by Sigurd Frosterus and Ole Gripenberg in 1925. Red brick building built as a barn in 1864 and a two-storey house built as a dormitory in the livestock school. The dormitory was built in 1935 according to plans by architect Heikki Tiitola.

There is also a grain magazine drawn by Ola Gripenberg, completed in 1925, and a garage and pump room designed by Uno Sjöstöm in 1922.

Today Villilä is known also as a residence of a Finnish pop star Sani.  She is also known at the Eurovision contest  When you visit at Villilä you might find lots of different events!

Hotel Villa Emma

Hotel Villa Emma runs in an old dormitory building which was built in 1935. The hotel offers ten double rooms and two single rooms.  Rooms are all featured with work desks, towels and bathrobes. In tiled bathrooms you will find hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner and body wash liquid. On the second and ground floor you will find living areas. On the ground floor of the hotel there are also  kitchen and sauna. Staff at the 24-hour front desk speak English, Finnish and Swedish.
